Hi Folks
I was lucky inough to be involved in a road traffic collision a couple of weeks ago. I was stationary on a large roundabout when I was hit from behind by a HGV. It was a bit annoying as I had only bought the car a few days previously ( from Cazoo, who were very good to deal with)
The boot door and rear bumper are obviously mangled but the roof and flanks of the car look pretty straight. Looking in the boot, the floor doesn't look obviously deformed but the boot space has clearly changed shape and is now less long and more wide
I have a couple of questions and would be grateful for any advice that people can give:
Do people think the car should be repaired?
I would like the car to be fixed by a Toyota approved body shop but none of the repairers offered by Quotemehappy seem to be Toyota approved. Do people think this is something worth pushing for?
Thanks in advance

I would push them to use an approved repairer - if not then presumably you're voiding the anti-corrosion warranty?

Whichever bodyshop it ends up at, inspect and nag them to get it perfect before you accept the repair.

It needs repairing. When parked at a friend's house, his neighbour scratched my bumbper when he was moving off. I took it to BMW for a quote and they made the claim on my behalf. I didn't need to involve my insurance company. BMW (through Enterprise) even gave me a Merc 220D for a week and a half whilst it was getting painted.

Hi Krikkit
Thanks for that. It was what I hoped someone would say as it is what I was thinking ( but I worried that I was going down a rabbit hole and worrying unnecessarily)
One of the main reasons that I bought this car was the 10 year Toyota warranty as I planned to keep it for a long time. My previous family car was a 2013 Rav4. Toyota repaired a leaking rear diff on that at 9 years old / 97000 miles without any quibbles
