Anyone used something like this before, and is it any good?

I quite like washing the cars, but hate doing the wheels, so anything which might help make it easier would be very welcome!

Look a bit too aggressive to me.
Maybe consider a Vikan soft wheel brush, they are very useful.

I have that exact set for the BBQ and occasionally a really messy interior. Wouldn't go anywhere near paint or wheels with them on a drill.

Ooh, that's useful to know. Cleaning the bbq is another job I hate, might get them for that instead biggrin

I've got a set. I use the flat ones for carpets, and the bog-brush for cleaning the shower (gets into the corners between tiles and bath nicely with a bit of cream cleaner). They're quite splattery, and too agressive for paint/wheels for sure. Wheelarches maybe...

I'd say go for it anyway, useful to have around, and you'll find a use for them even if it's not what you intended.

I have a set of those and find them great for cleaning off the mud and crud in the wheel wells, but not so good on wheels. For wheels I have one of these, which is really good:

I also apply ceramic coating to the wheels whenever I put it on the car. This seems to keep the wheels reasonably clean, and makes washing then very easy, with it needing little more than a wipe over with whatever car wash shampoo I'm using.

If you’re looking for brushes for your alloys try these, for less than £9 (with a trade card) they’re decent, the small
Ones get into & around the tyre valves & wheel nuts & larger ones for the spokes & tyres, there’s also a super soft one for exterior trimmings

I wouldn't OP, it does look harsh and for wheels you really won't need that level of aggression.

If you clean them regularly normal soap and a mitt will clean them, a wheel brush to get to the backs and some fallout remover to spray on and brush in. smile

I wouldn’t use it. Just a hand-held wheel brush, with appropriate cleaner.

I've just bought that set for doing the interior carpets and mats, quality seems OK for the money. Wouldn't use on the exterior though.

I use the Meguiars wheel brush for the wheels along with Bilt Hamber Surfex HD. Its quite chunky so can be a pain to get it between big rotors and the rim but its nice and soft and wont induce any marring compared to a brush with bristles.
