Any advices or recommendations for a good quality hose that WILL NOT kink.
Wasted so much money on hoses to find they are rubbish and last about 18 months.

Need a min of 25 metres and it's rhe kinking that does my head in.
Have mostly had Hozelock stuff the sort you pick up at B&Q but no matter the promises on the packaging its always kinked after about a year of use. I wouldn't mind its not even stored outside, I keep it on the garage and get it out when needed. It's stored on a reel so isn't an issue.
My external tap is in the garden and I run it through my garage to rhe front for car / motorcycle duties.

I'm not bothered if it's expensive I just want a good quality , reliable kink resistant hose that can be stored on a reel.

Anyone been here and found a winner? Thanks

Gardena. I've had mine for a few years and very happy with it.

I use an armoured hozelock that has a wire in it to help with kinking. Not sure you will ever fix it completely but I find the easiest way to stop the kinking is keeping the hose properly stored and wound back so when I pull it out it doesn't kink.

I have the Gardena auto retract one - it's ace, and the auto retract is really nice, not just a gimmick.

Green hoses deteriorate really quickly and spring pinhole leaks. I have a yellow Hozelock set that's been going for 20 years. In fact the hose trolley looks quite worse for wear and the plastics very brittle.

Here is the latest one which is probably the worst I've had. Constantly kinks and twists, it seems to have no structural rigidity left after about a years use.
Like i said it's always kept on a reel and is stored in the garage.

Yup, they're waste of good money.

As already suggested, get an auto-retracting Gardena.

Also that looks a bit short to be useful.

Type ''1/2" reinforced PVC hose'' into ebay and browse to your hearts content, i've bought it before from hyraulic hose suppliers where they called it low pressure air line.

I use this as hose pipe, very thick and has criss cross reinforcing throughout, due to the thickness it can be tight fitting normal connectors especially in cold weather but dipping the end in a saucepan of hot water will usually soften it up to make life easier.

I've had a Fitt branded one from Screwfix for 5 years ish, always kept outside and never kinks. I'll buy another when needed.

I would look at plumbing a tap in nearer to where you want the water to minimize the hose run.

I'm sure these are decent quality but they will still kink when push comes to shove. Admittedly much much less likely to with the reel but it's still possible.

A couple of outings, I like it!

Thanks for all the greenback.im def investigating all the brands mentioned.
I've had a flexible expansion hose before and it was brilliant until it wasn't. After about 3 months it got a puncture which then split along about 15 inches of the hose so wasn't robust enough for the cars and bikes I wash almost every week.

They seem to have much better choice in the USA for hoses. Often wondered if it would be worth the effort trying to mail order and import one. Probably cost a little more, but if the end result is way better, then might be money well spent.
