I’ve had a look and can’t see this covered.

My car is a 2016 M4 GTS which I understand had matte ppf applied over matte paint from new. Now 7 years later it’s starting to look a little tired - lifting on edges, hazy patches, that sort of thing.

I’d like to remove it and perhaps replace it but I’m struggling to find someone happy to it. Does anyone have experience of this or can recommend a detailer, ideally south coast based?

Cheers

Will be a difficult one for people to take on. Going to be a very slow job to do and the chance of paint coming off or not being perfect after is real.

No experience with Matte unfortunately. I'd go KDS or Topaz for advice and doing the replacement PPF.

PS: very cool car!

We regularly remove and replace PPF, be in matte or gloss finishes. One can never guarantee if the clearcoat will get damaged upon removal but we do warm the film up to the correct temps and remove as gently as possible. It's a small risk but it's one of those things you cannot avoid. If you have heavy chip damage and it has punctured the existing film and gone through to the paint, its these areas where the risk is higher because the film may peel away a weak spot in the paint.
