Thinking of getting one of these short trigger guns all the YouTube detailers seem to use. It does make sense as 3.5ft of lance is unwieldy for washer a car.

Any recommendations? My gut feeling is they're all made in the same Chinese factory with a different sticker on but happy to be educated.

They aren't quite all the same but they are all pretty similar. I have an unbranded one from CleanYourCar and it seems to work fine.

Forensic Detailing did a video on them a while ago and essentially they are all similar but the more expensive ones have better quality fittings they do not corrode or deteriorate as quickly.

I've got one of these and it seems good quality.

You may need an adapter to fit your pressure washer hose

What one do you have ?

I got mine from CleanYourCar and it’s been excellent. I did have a failure of the Nilfisk connector and they sent me another one for free which was nice.

It makes a huge difference to getting in to wheel arches and around a car compared to the massive lance.

A Nilfisk, probably four or five years old now.

Just take a photo and send it to the people at CYC and they will confirm which one you need. Nilfisk I don't think have changed for years.

I bought the karcher one for my steam cleaner and it is great, it has a quick change thread on the front so the swap from snow cannon to short lance is just a twist. A lance is not great on a car - especially if you don’t have a protective rubber on the end.

I've had the Autobrite one for a while but never used it until yesterday. I like to clean under the floorpans, chassis, arches and inside the wheels etc whenever I use my C43 at this time of year (death by salt!), and it made it so much easier to get in all the nooks and crannies. The full length lance has tended to be a bit restrictive in the past but this stubby one was a bit of a game changer. Can't go wrong for the money really.

Jesus…are there no axle stands under there? Surely that is not just balanced on a trolley jack?

The jack has a lock on it if you look close, so acts as an axle stand. The bottom off the diff is flat, and the front wheels are on the floor, so not really balanced. Don't worry, it's not my first time near a car wink
