I live in a very hard water area, if any water spots dry on my car it’s a total pain to remove them. Do any of the water purifier systems work well enough that after washing the car could be left to dry without using cloths? I’m guessing the device plugs in between the tap and hose in order to filter the tap water?
Any recommendations?

The resin filters work well, I use mine mainly on the house windows.
Just beware anything branded with a detailing link such as raceglaze will be more expensive.
I think mine is a vyair 11L model direct from them.

I'm in a hard water area also (over 400ppm TDS currently) and I have a black car which really shows water marks badly.

Yes the resin systems work well, my issue is that working as you suggest, I whack through the resin quite quickly as you need to be thorough. I'm a tightwad so instead I put the deionised water into a watering can, do a quick rinse then gently towel dry.

Mine also is Vyair, but they are not a particularly cheap brand, you can probably find anything they sell cheaper elsewhere. However the customer service is pretty good.

Infinity wax sell one, seems to be well liked by those that use it.

If I need it I just go and fill a container at my local filling station as provided by https://www.spotlesswater.co.uk/

I don't know how effective it is, but I have read that adding something like Optimum No Rinse to water softens it and reduces the appearance of water spots.

Thanks for the advice. infinity see to be out of stock. Frustrating the Vyair unit doesn’t come with any hose fittings.
The raceglaze unit is well reviews but at over £200 for the larger one it should be…

Believe the clunk click option is for the quick connect style hozelock etc.

Thanks that’s helpful.
There seems to be a number of different “media options’ that the cylinder can ship with, there’s not a huge difference in cost, do you know which is most suitable for rinsing off a car?

I can't remember if mine is Mb115 or 151.
It would benefit you to buy a tds water tester first and check your water, not expensive and handy to check the vessel is still performing ok.

Ok thanks. The water here is incredibly hard, even with a water softener we get water spots on taps etc.

Thanks it’s the 11 litre I’ll go for. Does it come with any bracket or means Iif securing it from toppling over?
I’ve emailed them to ask advice as to which media is most suitable.

No it’s free standing but is heavy enough when full of water not to topple over.

Useful information folks. I am looking at getting one of these in the spring and wondered how the Vyair compared to Raceglaze.

Same filter just with a Raceglaze sticker on it and a few more £.

Belle, could I ask do you use the vyair to clean your windows with one of their poles? I’m thinking of buying a pole from them as well. I’m going to order the hose lock connectors, can I just run a standard hose from the filter to the pole and then attach a brush to the pole or does it need different fittings or hoses?

OP - your profile says you are in Herts. Anywhere near Camberley?

I have a Raceglaze one - don't know what model (I bought it in 2015) but it's about half my height so I think is the large. I used it a few times and then never really bothered again.
I will shortly be moving in with the g/f, and this is not something I really need to transport and continue to not use. If you're anywhere near - you're welcome to collect it for free.
(It would need new resin obviously).

Davek that’s so kind of you. I’m a fair distance from Camberley, but would be willing to pay for postage and packaging

I do but have my own pole.
The filter just sits in line on a standard hose so no different fittings needed really.

OK - to be honest, I'm not sure I can be bothered with the post / packing hassle. I'd actually forgotten it was there and it was only when I saw your post that I figured I'd need to do something with it.
If you're not local enough then I'll just move it - maybe I should start using it again!
