Is there a way to identify which ppl on a car?
Discussion
(edit, title meant to say ppf)
My car has at some stage had ppf applied.
its on matte paint and is a satin finish. it has cut outs of the badges and appears to be kit of some sort as the car edges all finish a bit early iykwim. its cut perfectly around everything so im sure its a kit.
Unfortunately a couple of tiny tiny bits of damage to it and would like to replace those sections. (although its clearly done its job protecting the paint).
Is that viable? how can i find out what ppf it is? I contacted the original owner but it wasn't him who had it fitted, must have been second owner but im not sure who that is.

Unless there is a marker or something in a corner that has been left on then it will be almost impossible.
It can be a bit like a respray as well, if you change one panel of it you may need to change more to avoid it looking odd. A lot of cheaper films can yellow so if it yellows at a different rate it would look strange.
There is also a risk to taking film off if not done properly, not uncommon if it is rushed to damage the paint or trims.
