Cars parked on my drive seem to suffer with small hard amber coloured deposits. These are rock hard and can only be removed with clay bars or my nails. Clay bats always seem to leave swirls when I use them (cars have dark metallic blue paint) I’ve tried Pre washes and fallout removers but nothing shifts them - any thoughts as to their safe removal?

I find a citrus pre-wash and soak helps get rid of them. Then a good wash and focus on the areas with the deposits on them.

Thanks I’ve tried pre wash etc but they won’t be removed without some force. I don’t know what they’re caused by…

How big? I get little 2-5mm amber coloured blobs of what I think is sap after parking near certain trees at work.

Yes they’re similar sizes. I’m not parked directly under any trees but I do have a large tree in my front garden. Tree sap is normally quite sticky, if this how it ends up when it been naked on?

Funnily enough I read that last night on a detailing forum. Thank god they don’t eat Vindaloo….

That's a large Bee just fallout dont overthink it
Try hot water via a microfibre to see if it softens
nothing wrong with a careful use of finger nail, tar glue remover, aggressive clay, fallout remover
By coincidence helped a friend yesterday with a similar issue hot water with microfibre pad 2 or 4 times and then carefully chipped of in lumps with finger nail finished with a light polish
Just reread your post if clay removes them they are not that hard the ones on this Maserati felt like you needed a hammer and chisel just waste some clay remember plenty of lube !!

Sounds like industrial fallout to me, close to any metal works or factories with active chimneys, or has anyone been grinding metal anywhere near the car?

No on all counts. We’re about half a mile from a railway line however.
