Hi guys, I stupidly dented my car by turning too soon in a car park and hit the edge of a wall. The dent is quite deep on the right rear door. I’ve tried a few body shops but they say the door will need replacing. How can I go about doing this? Can’t find any used doors on ebay either.

Vauxhall Corsa 2022 1.2 SRi - leased from Autorama. They said that I should just get it repaired myself (they didn’t seem much interested).

Can anyone recommend a place or should I just go through my insurance (I would rather avoid the later and pay whatever to repair it somewhere privately if possible). Many thanks.

That'll likely cost more than your excess and premium increases to repair. Go through insurance would be my approach.

Leave it till the lease is nearly up, then find somewhere that'll fill and spray it, plus touch up any other damage before you hand it back.

That's not easily repairable especially as it's gone across that swage line.
255098570242 Ebay.
This is the better option.
The listing is wrong, this door fits your car.

If you're not bothered about how the car looks, cheapest option may be to do nothing and hand it back in that state at the end of the lease. Check what they say in the lease paperwork about charges for damage on return.

It might also be possible to improve, but not fully fix it yourself if you take the door card off and do a bit of DIY panel beating.

Replacing just the door with one from a scrapyard would be another option, but that would leave the scratch/dent in the wheel arch so would still result in charges when you return.

If you want it fixed properly though, it's probably an insurance job.

We had similar on a Ford Focus a few years ago but ours was damage to the front door. Went to a reputable local body shop who said ballpark of £2k to repair so we decided to go through insurance instead. No real change in premium the following years as a result...
