Ceramic Coating

Hi, just acquired a new to me 3 year old Mini JCW. The previous owner thinks the first owner had the car ceramic coated. Is there any way of telling and if so, assuming it was done when new it’s probably at the end of its life. Can you just start cleaning as normal in terms of a light clay bar, polish and wax? I don’t want to do any damage to the paint and don’t know how I can be sure what if anything has been done to the paintwork.

I would ignore it and decontaminate the car as normal.

Any coating will be close to end of life and if the previous owner never maintained it then it will be clogged and useless.

If you clay, do chemical decontamination and then a light polish it would remove any remaining coating before putting yours on.
