Just rebuilt and painted these 4 pot calipers, used red hi-temp paint, applied the vinyl decals once the colour had flashed off and then Halfords rattle can lacquer over the top.

Looks good in these photos but came back overnight and the vinyl decals look to be curling up on all the edges, breaking the lacquer. Anyone have any suggestions as to why this might have happened?

Possibly the lacquer causing a reaction?

I put some cheap/generic EBay R-Line heat resistant decals on my callipers about 4 years ago, no lacquer, and they still look like new.

Sounds like a tricky one to put right now you’ve got lacquer on top of the decals frown

Likely a reaction to the lacquer, possibly causing the decal to delaminate as it’s drying.

I may be viewing it funny, but I think the decal is upside down. Hard to make out.

Reacting to the lacquer was my first thought as well, a bit of googling reveals Halfords lacquer isn't held in very high regard among the pros, I just had half a can on the shelf so thought I'd may as well use it.

They're definitely the right way up too, I wouldn't mind so much if they weren't!

You’re right. Tired eyes last night. Is the curling really noticeable or would it pass when fitted?

That's one of the fitted calipers, doesn't stand out but doesn't look great up close either. I'll see how it goes as to whether I end up redoing it or not
