For the mods: I've search & looked over the forums and can't see if there's a dedicated section to car detailing etc; so if there is feel free to move this if need be wink

So; after 11 years my trusty Nilfisk C120.4 pressure washer has died; it's been faultless but decided the other day to stick on and it's now dead. Not worth refurbing as it cost me £100 back then and it'll cost about the same to try to fix it with no telling if it'll stay fixed!

This means I'm after another pressure washer

- Nilfisk would be ideal as everything I have is sorted to connect to Nilfkisk; but having had a look over their current range; I do not like the integrated hose reels and they get bad reviews; I'd rather stick to my 15m aftermarket hose and short trigger attachments etc

- Karcher I know little about now; back then they were crap and failed all the time. Are they better now?

- Kranzle I love the look of but fu*kaduck they're pricey!

I wash my car weekly, without fail; the wife's Racing Jazz probably every 2-3 weeks. I also like to keep the driveway cleaned and the paths in/around the back garden & driveway etc

It needs to be powerful enough for all those jobs as well as keep up with my weekly car washing etc

So; any suggestions/recommendations?

Budget c£500

Cheers thumbup

I used to have a Karcher, moved to a Kranzle then when that gave up (unreliable & expensive to repair) moved to a Nilfisk.

I'd recommend exactly what you've suggested - Nilfisk + 12/15m ebay hose = job done.

Cheers,

Chris

Therein lies the issue

The Nilfisk seem to have integrated hoses now. You can't just attach your own etc

Does anyone on here use the AVA pressure washers at all?

They get good reviews on Deatilingworld forum & Amazon etc

They seem to share the same fittings as Karcher K series which is handy as that's all I'd need to do to the parts I have now; swap the Nilfisk connections for Karcher K series ones etc

As already said above; most of the current Nilfisk consumer range is out due to their integrated hoses...

However, just found this on Amazon and it appears you can attach your own hose etc:

I have a nilfisk P range washer with a detachable hose that is on an inbuilt reel.

It's been amazing, use it with a QR short trigger gun and wish I had bought the setup years ago.

Finally found a Nilfsik that still has the outlet port to connect a normal hose and not an integrated one on a real, so purchase made there & then.

£145 delivered next day and means I can still use all my own ancillaries that are Nilfisk compatible

My base Karcher from Halfords is now a decade old and continues to work flawlessly.

Like the OP I use mine for car washing and doing the patio once a year. I started out with a Karcher but managed to get through two, each lasting about 3 or 4 years. I since switched to a Makita and after about 10 years use it's been fine.

I've had my Nilfisk since 2016, looks like it is still being sold, always worked flawlessly and I added an adapter to it to make the built in trigger handle take quick connect nozzles and foam lance

I might short trigger it properly one day, not sure its really necessary tho

Just a heads up for those fancying one of these, Costco has this model on offer at the minute for £89.99 including delivery. I couldn't see any in my local store so ordered one off their website. You have to be a Costco member to make the purchase.

I bought one yesterday to replace my dead Karcher, as I didn't feel like spending another £400 on a domestic grade Karcher and couldn't run to a proffesional one.
