Rather than re-invent the wheel, I am looking for a supplier of vents and scoops to get some air to my mid engine kit car.

Any links would be appreciated - all I can find are the usual ones that everyone uses and I need something unique

Who have you tried? Reverie seem to have a reasonable range but no idea whether they have what you're looking for.

That's the sort of thing , the NACA ducts look interesting. I've tried Demon Tweeks, ESP Design and a few others but can't see anything suitable yet.

ITG also do that sort of stuff, but their web site at www.itgairfilters.com (which used to be quite informative) seems to have been pruned of all useful product information.

I think some giant size bonnet louvres would look cool - all I can find are teeny weeny ones Even www.coollouvres.co.uk cant help coz they form theirs into steel panels (mine is GRP)

Anyone know of any 'bonnet width' jobbies or suggestions for making some?

Are you just trying for convection cooling in traffic, or are you hoping for a lot of cooling on the move?

For convection cooling all you need is a hole as high as possible over the hot bits, for example one or more big slots with mesh behind them. If you're after forced ventilation on the move (for example to get air through a rad) you need to be careful to put the inlet in a high pressure zone and the outlet in a low pressure zone. In this case I reckon you can't go far wrong with a off big rectangular hole ducted straight to the rad.

Do you have any pics showing what it is you're trying to ventilate?

Exactly what I am doing - I just want to smooth the body line a bit while introducing a bit of quirky style (hence the louvres). Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to post a pic of the project (forum priveleges?)

If you want to post a pic it has to be hosted elsewhere, you simply put up a link to the image of the form [ pic ] imageurl [ /pic ] (without the spaces)

Yes, that's how it's done - I can't see the pic though, but it could just be this PC...

It is indeed .... or at least it is an idea of what I am starting with - I have plans for some fairly radical changes in body shapes here and there

V6 in the engine bay will have an occasional bout of gas from time to time making about 300 bhp. In a car which weighs about 650kg it should be fun!
