Brake problems (Honda Accord)
Discussion
I was doing some “spirited” driving over a hill road the other day and something happened to the front right break disc on my car. Whenever I hit the brakes now there is an intense grinding sound and my break disc is badly scored across the outside 2/3rds of its surface.
Any ideas on what has happened and how I can fix it?

If you are lucky, a stone is trapped. At least it is best to have a good look - safety first......

I doubt a stone would score 2/3 of the disc face or only make a noise under braking.
Some cars have a tin like shield on the inside of the disc and a stone trapped in there can sound like the end of the world. My scoob was prone to it. Probably a very nice earner for scoob dealers.
I took the wheel off to have a better look, decided to let as professional do it so it’s going in Monday (after all the brakes are pretty important). I suppose I do tend to be pretty hard on the brakes, I have had them smoking while pulling to a halt after some serious driving

Dont be suprised if the garage rings you about wheel bearing replacement also, changing discs on these cars is a pain and sometimes the bearing pulls apart when pulling the hub off(disc is located behind)so involves bearings as well expensive, not always required though, good luck

Thats really poor design. I thought Ford had a patent on doing stuff that ends up being a pain in the arse.
Thankfully the operation all went well and was a very reasonable price.
2 x Front disks
4 x Pads
Price? Equivalent of approx. £250 (Independent, not dealership).
Good guess “That Daddy”, they did say it was difficult to get the disks off. Thankfully they didn’t break anything else doing it.
