I couldn't find a good forum for this, but it's pretty close!

Because I don't fit properly in the car, being 6 foot 2" and all, I'm looking to put a smaller steering wheel on my Merc, specifically an Isotta Strada:

The only problem is, the supplier only has Isotta hub adapters that are the shiny polished bling-metal variety. Naturally, this would look rubbish in an old Mercedes.

However, some boss adapters claim to work for multiple brands of wheel, such as this momo:
www.motorspeed.com/store_main.asp?int_catalog_id=4&int_category_id=16&int_subcategory_id=71&int_product_id=606
which apparently works with an Isotta steering wheel.

How can this work? Can bosses work with steering wheels from the wrong manufacturer? Wouldn't all the holes line up incorrectly?

I have no experience in this field (can you tell?) so any help would be appreciated.. also if anyone knows a good place to buy such an item it would be great!

thanks

the momom hub will one set of holes at one PCD for the momo wheels, and another set of holes at a different PCD for other wheels.

Actually the hole sizes are pretty common as the aftermarket people want their wheels to be easily fitted. Have fitted a Personal wheel to a quick release system to a momo hub on to a Sierra steering column in my Dax. Took about an hour.

I think it's only Mountney that have different bolt patterns (mountfield? One's a lawnmower and one makes steering wheels, but can't remember which). My Sparco wheel fits on my snap off boss which in turn fits onto my momo column adapter.
