Clunking noise from the front when braking
Discussion
I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a problem.
Can anyone help, I have a clunking noise which seems to be coming from both of the front wheels when I apply the brakes, it happens most times I brake at both slow and fast speeds, sometimes one side sometimes both. The local garage have had a look at it and couldnt see anything obvious.
Has anyone had this before, or can anybody point me in the right direction.
My first thoughts were that it could be the brake pads moving, but the local garage have checked this.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks B-L

I would suspect loose pads, followed by worn suspension bushes, followed by something loose in the suspension. Try getting a helper to apply the brakes gently while easing backwards and forwards a few inches at a time, and see if you can spot anything moving or causing noise. Failing that it's up on the ramp with a pry bar.
