Recommend brake discs?
Discussion
I'm in need of some new rotors for my front brakes as my last ones have developed major cracks during my last trackday.
I've got the setup I want. 330mm discs and Brembo 4 pot calipers.
Can anyone recommend one make over another?
Here's the damage
The other disc had 4 major cracks but this is the side I already had apart
Found 2 possibilities for replacements.
AP www.apracing.com/car/brakedisc/index.htm
and Hispec www.hispecmotorsport.co.uk/ which I believe is where the kit originated.
Wilwood from rally design have a different bolt pattern.
Any other options
Thanx, Ben.

I can't help you with the disc choice, but whoever chamfered the holes wants a kick up it. Sharp internal corners are a perfect stress riser for a crack to start at, and look where your crack is? Across a hole.
Just say NO to drilled discs. They're pretty enough for show, but if you're using them in anger and they get hot, you're just begging for stress cracks that can lead to catastrophic and very dangerous failure. Grooved discs are just as effective at degassing the pads without this dangerous tendancy to crack.

And do not go to "Hi-Spec in Dartford". Had my bits for just over 3 years, with a promise every month that he was starting to make up the kit. The only thing he did was bullshit and lost some of the bits. The fact that i was not ready for the bits is not an issue, the fact that he is a liar is.
So instead i went to KAD in Kent and had a complete kit (bells, discs and six pots) made up in no time. Think that says it all.

You aren't the only one.

avoid hi-spec like the plague. it seems we're not allowed to give bad reviews here, but if you want advice about hi-spec feel free to mail me.
AP racing are fantastic, i've ran their 355mm kit on a previous car and fully intend to on both my current cars once they're in need of something beefier to stop them particularly the skyline.
what car is it for?
