I need a single new tyre on my front axle and ideally wanted to match the Goodyear on the other side which still has 5-6 mm of tread left but I cannot find a Supersport in a 225/40 R19 size. What is the best alternative model? Or am I overthinking things and just fit another good premium tyre?

2023 Octavia vRS by the way.

mytyres are showing it in stock (at £150).

I'd not put a non-matching tyre on one rim, but understand not wanting the additional cost...the closest in tread pattern is probably the Goodyear F1A5, but the newer F1A6 is probably closer in performance and has the rim protector like the Supersport.

If you do decide to replace both, there seems to be a current offer of £60 cashback when you buy 2 or more Goodyear tyres from certain resellers ( have to give your location on the Goodyear website to find them).

Thanks so much for your help!

I've ordered a tyre and found a place to fit in on the wheel and balance for £25. All in all much cheaper than buying from Protyre which I normally do.

It surprised me a bit that they were a lot cheaper (c.25%) from that source than I see in stock elsewhere...and most were for the tyre only too.

I'm not loyal to any tyre reseller in particular, but will try Camskill first, before widening my search...and I have a local fitter who will fit them for £15/corner.

You'd think in this time of computers doing everything for us, a simple stock management system would be able to keep track of what is and is not in stock at any time banghead
