I am looking to build a car using double wishbone suspension.

I need to source cheap parts, see image what I am trying to do.

Ideally from a donor car or new.

Any help would be good.

I'm not sure how cheaply you could replicate those using production parts. As far as I know most road car double wishbones setups still use a strut for spring/damper rather than an inboard setup.

You might find something appropriate on a motorsport car, probably one make series/class type thing but I don't have any specific suggestions

If you're using a strut, wouldn't that make it a single wishbone? Or perhaps you mean an outboard coilover rather than inboard.

Cheap/easy/good - pick any two.

The cheapest option is to DIY. If you're already making a tubular chassis, wishbones and uprights aren't a big step. Then you only need to source compatible upper and lower ball joints. For example TVR used a combination of Saab and Lada parts.

Manufacturers will usually build their own suspension components. The good option is to pick a car with a design you like and buy the components as spare parts. Since it's relatively common to replace suspension components after an accident they will probably be readily available for any recent cars. You could also look for them at any breakers. Take yourself to the national kit car show at the NEC this weekend and you will have hundreds of cars to look at.

The easy option is to find a good local motorsport team and ask them to make it for you. This won't be cheap.

Yes, I was a bit loose with my description. Outboard coilover mounted in a "traditional" road car shock tower rather than being relocated inboard

Ginetta race cars use quite nicely made double wishbones - you can often find them used but they aren't cheap!

Lotus elise platform would be an obvious choice. But cheap ? certainly not. Although not relatively expensive either.

Or of course the westfield, caterham etc etc style of cars.
