New front right caliper - questions
Discussion
I have a 2013 Hyundai i30 (GD) (UK model, based in Ireland). Recently my front right (drive on the left, so steering wheel is on the right) brakes started binding. I brought it to a mechanic and they put a new caliper on. Looking at the invoice, and brakes it appears they only put new brake pads on the front right where they changed the caliper.
I am of the impression they should have done brake pads on the front left as well? I have the car since September and believe the front brakes were changed recently before I got it, so maybe there was enough meat left on the front left to not need to change them. Do you think I will have any issues? Thanks!

You can't buy pads for just one side, so either they threw away the second pair, or they fitted them.
No reputable garage would change pads on just one side. Typically theres only a pad wear sensor on one side of each axle, so the system relies on both wearing evenly and being replaced at he same time.

Thanks all. It's just when I looked at the pads through the alloy on the front right they looked very new, whereas I looked at the front left and they didn't look as new so I assume they were the same ones that were on it. I'll have a look again but the pads on the right did look different to the ones on the left.....
