Strange noise when brakes are warm
Discussion
I have a 2002 honda crv. For quite some time now, when coming to a stop, there is a strange rubbing/groan noise from the brakes (it sounds like the front, but hard to tell). It has had 2 new sets of discs and pads to cure this, but the problem remains.
I'm just wondering where I should be looking? The noise sounds like really poor bicycle brakes, a fairly dull groan. They seem to perform fine, I haven't noticed any obvious drop in braking.
Cheers

I had the noise you descibe on our Forester and found the culprit, might be the same issue with yours car.
The front pad friction area has a groove in the middle, this can fill up with brake material residue and as you come gently to a halt that material rubbing on the disc sounds suspiciously like the pads have worn out,
Removing pads and scraping the groove clear cured the problem.
I'm gentle on the brakes which might allow this material to build up.
