Just got some new tyres fitted and this was how the tracking looks. How bad is it, worth £120 to fully align? Drove fine and no unusual tyre wear.

Thanks!

My interpretation of the report:

The smaller figures are your measured values; the bigger values are the expected range.

You have 1.6 toe-out and 3.6 toe-in on the front. In other words the steering isn't centered. You have 2 degrees total toe-in and should have roughly zero. That's probably going to lead to scrubbing, and dull steering response if that matters to you.

Your front camber settings are not the same side-to-side and one is slightly outside the recommended range, but I wouldn't expect that to cause any problem.

The front and rear castor settings are irrelevent and it probably wasn't measured.

Rear toe-in is 1.8 on one side and 1.5 on the other for a total of 3.3. That's quite a lot more than the recommended range of -0.1 .. +0.6 and +0.50 total. That's probably going to lead to scrubbing.

Rear camber should be -1,19 .. -0,34 You've got -1,42 on one side which is a little too negative, and -1,03 on the other which is barely within spec.

The rear thrust line should be less than 0,03 and yours is, so the rear axle is tracking correctly.

Nothing there looks scary, but it would probably be worth getting the camber and toe corrected to be within spec and symmetrical. This would also center the steering for you - I expect you'll find it's slightly off center at the moment.

This is assuming that the measurements were actually accurate. For £120 I'd want to see before and after printouts and the 'before' should not just be another copy of the report you already have - if they captured it again before adjusting then the readings will always be slightly different from the original report, but seeing similar (but not identical) readings would give you some reassurance that the measurements are coming out consistently.

ETA: Also, depending on the car, not all these settings may be adjustable. No point fretting about the rear toe if that isn't adjustable on your car. The fronts will definitely be adjustable, though.

Not all, but generally bmws do have adjustability at the rear, as you said, not the end of the world, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Improvement that not all will feel, or even be able to measure in tyre wear, but improvement none-the-less.

Thanks guys. It’s actually on my 73 year old dad’s 2016 330d. He does 3k per year. Probably not worth the bother. I learnt a lot from the replies though, thank you
