Wheels damaged whilst changing tyres
Discussion
I’ve been using the same garage for four years to change tyres on my wheels, without issue.
This year when I got a set of tyres moved from one set of wheels to another set, all eight wheels were marked by the gripping jaws of the ‘wheel machine’.
When I challenged the garage, they explained that they had got a new machine and that new tyre machines now have metal jaws, their last one had rubber covering the jaws and protecting the wheels.
Has the garage purchased a ‘cheap’ machine or are all machines direct metal jaw on metal wheel contact these days?

At least they have admitted liability. This year when I got a set of tyres moved from one set of wheels to another set, all eight wheels were marked by the gripping jaws of the ‘wheel machine’.
