Mid-Range Tyres on Cooper S
Discussion
Hi,
I was wondering your thoughts on this. We have a few cars on the drive, and the wifes Cooper S is now needing some new front tyres. It is driven sensibly by her and so wondered whether to go from the Dunlop Sports on it, to Kormoran UHP.
Now, usually I am of the mind that it should have either Michelins or Bridgestone's as I have on the M3. However, on one of the workhorses, after some reading up, I popped on some Kormoran tyres, fitted on the drive, nice and easy. I have to say, even though the Peugeot is a work hack, they are brilliant! I do between 120 and 400 miles each day, in all weather, and these are the best mid-range I've had. I don't hang around either.
Pricing up on the Cooper S, its a £100 difference between the Potenza's and the Kormoran's for the front - what are people's thoughts? I'm usually a go for the named premium bloke, but these do seem good.
Cheers

There was only 1 test done on them in 2019 & it isn't that comprehensive or complimentary, so personally I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.
At best I would describe them as budget rather than mid-range.
There are lots of decent mid-range tyres out there, what size are you looking for?
ETA.
I meant one tyrereview test.

My suggestion for some decent mid-range tyres would be to get some Falkens from one of the members of the Falken Tyre Network - my local branch seems to price them at not much more than budgets and they tend to do quite well in tests.
