The main dealer fitted two new Goodyear run flats on the front of my Ghost two years ago. I have not kerbed them at all and don't bump up kerbs. Yesterday, I noticed that one was bulging.

I've also just Googled Goodyear Run-Flat bulge and come up with a few pages of results.

Does anyone know anything about these tyres? Are they, as I suspect, problematic?

TIA

Its really common for runflats to do this regardless of car, tts just the roads in general, all you can do is replace it. They are a dangerous defect and fail when it comes to an MOT.

Why are RFs more prone to it?

Possibly because of the very stiff sidewalls necessary for RFT running. The shock of an impact may be dissipated less well then in a more flexible conventional tyre, causing layers to separate.

Its the construction of the sidewalls as mentioned above.
