Surprisingly expensive size.
Goodyear Efficient Grip are good all round and come with over 8mm new tread, be aware a lot of other tyres have only 7mm new.
Another vote for Goodyear EfficientGrip. I have them on my 335d (obviously in larger sizes, and a staggered set-up), comfortable and quiet for run-flat versions.Goodyear Efficient Grip are good all round and come with over 8mm new tread, be aware a lot of other tyres have only 7mm new.
If you want an all-season, Vredestein Quatrac 5 are good.

Love a 1st gen on 15s! I wussed out and went with 16s on mine.
There was one at Cadwell recently on 15s, looked soooo good.
ETA, if they're 7J, I'd be tempted to drop down to 195s for increased availability of decent brand tyres. (I've not looked at 215s)

Isn’t the standard size 175/65r15 on a 5.5 wheel?
Michelin cross climates, primacy or energy savers, Goodyear efficient grip, continental eco contact and many others all available. Check someone hasn’t put the wrong size on at some point
They're aftermarket wheels, so you can throw the manual away Michelin cross climates, primacy or energy savers, Goodyear efficient grip, continental eco contact and many others all available. Check someone hasn’t put the wrong size on at some point

My 1992 BMW 320i (E36) had 205/60R15 tyres on the alloy wheels it came with. I tried various tyres and liked the Goodyear Eagle F1s best. I don't know if they're still available in that size, but it was a pretty common size in those days.
The only approved alternative size for Merc W124's up to and including E320 spec, standard size was 195/65 x 15, if i recall correctly the wider tyre was on a 1/2" wider wheel.195/65s still are cheap as chips, Yokohama Blue Earths V rated @ £56 each on Camskill (small delivery charge on top)

Hi are you sure 205/60r15 tyres will clear the bodywork. That’s a tall sidewall.
But he had 50s on 205 so 60s are only 10% overall or 5% radius, around 10mm is not a lot provided the speedo isn't going to be too far out.I have gone up by the same amount before after calculating the previous speedo reading wrt sat nav & found it to end up spot on rather than constantly high.
