I’m changing tyres because they are old rather than worn. I wanted Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres.

As tyre age is my issue, is there anywhere where I can buy tyres 6 months old or less.

The tyre distribution system doesn’t seem to be able to cope with such a difficult request.

My tyre place often acts like I'm being completely unreasonable when I make that request. Having a rifle through their racks yielded some as young as one month and some as old as ten years(!!), with the average about three/four months.
Suppose the only way is to ask to physically see the tyres before they go on, or to specifically tell a retailer that you want not-old-stock and that you will reject any over six months. The shop may simply refuse to deal with you, though.

Last few times I have bought tyres (PS4 and cross climates ) I used blackcircles as not only were they well priced but I reasoned that they have a high turnover of tyres so only fresh ones supplied.

Both times the tyres were only a few months old.

Funny coincidence, as I had the same issue 2 days ago. I ordered 2 new Continental tyres from a local fitter. When they arrived I went to get them fitted and looked at them prior to fitment. They were marked 0321, therefore week 3 of 2021 so over 2 years old! I said to the guy "would you want them on your car", to which he replied that his tyres only last him 2 years! maybe he can afford it biggrin They weren't charging 2021 prices for them either wink
I told him I didn't want them fitted and went elsewhere. The next place had Goodyear ones and they were 4822, so only a couple of months since manufacture. they were also £10 each cheaper than BlackC, which surprised me. As I only tend to get rid of my tyres after about 6 years and generally before the treads are down, but the rubber becomes suspect (small cracks) I'd prefer as new as possible.

I have use Blackcircles for the last few years, I have never asked or checked till after the event, but never had one more than a few months old.
