Looking to replace all four tyres on my 2007 Porsche Cayman. 18” wheels, 235 / 40 front and 265 / 40 rear.

The highly recommended Michelin pilot sport 4 S seems to not be available in my size, with the PS4 being readily available and my planned option.

However! I’ve heard that Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric are a good alternative and would save me a fair chunk of money which would be great… only issue is (and the point of my post!) I can seem to get Asymetric 5 or 6’s (the latest models) for the front size, but for the rear it’s only Asymetric 2s. Would mixing these two models front/back cause any issues? I understand the 2 is now quite a dated tyre so worried the new one has been hugely developed and characteristics changed?

Replacing a set of old (5 years ~) Continental tyres that were on the car when I purchased it, so feel like anything would be an upgrade and hence not being too worried about Goodyears not being “quite as good” as Michellins.

Very happy to hear any recommendations or opinions on my choices!

Obviously there is nothing to stop you doing it but personally I would be looking to fit a matching set as that is what the manufacturers/testers do when testing & will reduce the chances of grip/handling imbalances.
