Tyres. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Is there anything better?

Our car; Maserati Ghibli S. 2016.
Currently has Pirelli all round but the front two need replacing.
We use it for everything in all weathers.

We've had MPS4's on our Scooby and I love them. So much dry and wet grip!

Is there anything better than the above? Oh, I'm not looking for 'summer specific' tyres but all year round.

No.

An alternative is Goodyear Eagle F1 but I wouldn't see them as "better".

Eagle F1 Supersport is on a par with 4S. Wear a little bit quicker I think.

Pirelli make lots of tyres, some very good, some very poor & many in between, can you narrow it down a bit?

Also how much life is left in the rears?

The Continental SportContact seems to have completely closed the gap on the PS4S and at a lower price point. Seems to be the better alternative according to the most recent tests until maybe the PS5S appears. Have a look at these:

I've not used the PS4S but have just put on a set of the SC7s on my XKR, replacing the admittedly very old Dunlops which were direct, grippy but stiff and numb - they held the road perfectly well but gave very little feedback. The Contis have transformed the car into something much more talkative, while feeling exceptionally grippy in the dry (no wet running yet). Not bad for a big, heavy barge of a coupe. In Germany, the SC7 worked out at €900 a set. The Michelins are listing from €1100 min. a set but are also hard to get in the front size for my car, maybe suggesting a potential update.

The only proviso is that these types of tyres are summer-biased. Winter ability isn't a design must. If you get long spells of snowy/icy conditions, I wouldn't be using such tyres at that time

The Michelin's are getting all the praise this time around - seems no matter where I ask, those are the recommended.
Just......I couldn't stomach the £190 a corner I was looking at, so I've ordered a couple of Goodyear AS6's instead - reviews are favourable, seem to be on a par. But the £144 a corner was just a little easier on the wallet.
