Was thinking about changing my tyres. It has Pirelli P Zero all around, different ages and wear levels. I'd like to buy a set of matching tyres with a good sound rating.

Pirelli have 3 or 4 different types of P-Zero tyre but I can't find a way of working out what ones my car has. Some models of P-zero are very well rated and others not so good. The tyre only says P-Zero on it.

Is there any way to find out exactly what model of Pirelli tyre is on the car.

Posting some clear high-res photos of all four tyres might help.

On the sound rating, some P-Zeros have sound absorbing foam on the inside.

Otherwise you could just buy some Michelins, which many people rate over Pirellis, usually PS4 or PS4S depending on dimensions and how sporty you want.

Yeah I don't like Pirellis. Trouble is 3 of the 4 have great tread. One of the rears has a 2017 date code and that one has worn out. The rear on the other side is 2021. Fronts are 2018.

In terms of posting pictures, there are no brand name markings. I've googled all the other figures and also tried searching for some guide on how to find Pirelli model numbers but coming up with blanks. All they say is P Zero.

I even checked e-Bay for pictures of the higher spec Pirelli PZ4 tyres and on the adverts where I found pictures the sidewalls still only say P Zero!

Go to tyrereviews.com

In the listing "tyres by brand" down towards the bottom of the page listing on the right of the page then open up the tab for Pirelli, and the tab for "all Pirelli tyres", they are all there with pictures to match the tread pattern.

I decided to go with all new tyres.

Michelins are about £250 a corner and every other brand was half that price. So I had to choose something else because I can't seriously entertain the idea that despite their good reputation they would actually be worth the same money as two tyres of another brand.

That put me in the strange position of having to go for different front and rear tyres as the rears are wider than the fronts and there's no brand offering front and rear of the same type other than Michelin or Pirelli (who I'm not a fan of)

I also wanted quiet tyres.

So in the end I went with my favourite on the front Fulda Sport Control 2. And on the rear Nexan. Purely for the sound measurements to try to cancel out some of the tyre roar. There were cheaper and more expensive options but nothing with a lower DB rating.
