As titled, putting my 1991 JDM car Subaru SVX back on the road after an engine refresh and as the suspension(coilovers are being refreshed) is coming off thought I would do these too.The fronts were uprated to KAD 6pot calipers, but the rear are standered singlepot(never been touched),even after 30+ trackdays. Will also be enquiring about a company for a steering rack refurb(leaking). As this car is below the radar always had trouble finding places as there was never a straight forward part availability and the car was low volume. Thanks for any advice.

Who are KAD ?

There is a KAD in England who do brakes...but are largely Mini based....I presume not the same company ? If they are, maybe they could refurb ?

Or Big Red seems to be a name that pops up regular with brake caliper refurbs

As for the rack, do you know if it's similar to a legacy or Impreza rack ? Subaru do have a tendency to use common parts which can make swapping very easy.

Thanks for the replies,KAD are yes the Kent based company,6pots specially made in 2008,but wouldn't be interested in the rears. Will try Bigg Red.Once rack off will be able to get part numbers.Past parts are only a half hour drive,so worth a call.

Don't use Big Red - friend of mine had a nightmare with them a few years ago, completely butchered his calipers and left him without use of his car for 3 months

Brake Caliper Refurbs have a better outlook but are a bit pricier but it turns out you get what you pay for

Just had the calipers done for my other half's XK by Bigg Red - very impressed with the work, but they did take quite a while to get it sorted. A day short of 4 weeks between them arriving with them and being shipped back.

Are very very good. Had a set of Supra Calipers done by them. They even put the Supra stickers back on them without asking!

Yep another big up for Biggred, they;re good with obscure stuff. I sent them 4 calipers from a 1981 Lancer turbo after chatting on the phone, they measured everything up, refurb'd the front and rear calipers for the agreed price on their website and returned them within 10 days, so all things considered I was well chuffed.

Give them a call, they really know their onions.

I used BiggRed recently too and couldn't fault the service.

I had the premium service so turnaround was about 2 weeks, but it wasn't an issue as I'd got a second set of calipers and it's not a daily driver anyway.
