So I've had an issue with the brakes on my car for a while now, they seem to feel different to how they did before as well as a much louder hissing noise as I press down on the pedal. I tried to have a look today at anything I could see cabin-side of the brake servo, what I did spot was some fluid where the back of the brake pedal goes into the servo, is this likely just some assembly lubricant or brake fluid that may suggest a damaged brake servo and master cylinder. Thanks

Hard to see from that, you may well ned to test the servo & get the M/Cylinder off it to see more.

With the engine switched off, press the brake pedal repeatedly until the pedal feels firm (this is to release any vacuum remaining in the servo.

Still pressing firmly on the brake pedal, start the engine. If the pedal gradually sinks toward the floor of the vehicle with the engine running, the servo is producing vacuum.
