I have a car that has wheel spacers fitted to standard wheels (therefore the offset is different to manufacturer specification) but now on four new tyres it feels like it needs an alignment check.

I can't get my head around whether having spacers fitted will affect the alignment or not. If it doesn't then fine, but if it does, should I remove them for the task and then refit?
If that's the case, then surely refitting them will make the final settings wrong after.

No unhelpful 'just leave them off' comments please.

Anyone know for certain?

It makes not one single jot of difference to the alignment, everything still points in the same direction.

Having said that have a look to see if they will be able to get the wheel jigs on, as if the wheels are now very close to the wheel arches they may struggle for space.

Thanks for confirming. I thought that would be the case but wondered if having a wheel further out may require a little more/less toe on whichever axle.

The car isn't lowered so no clearance issues, it's just the wheels are filling the arches better.
