Inner tread wear on one tyre only?
Discussion
Hi all.
Just picked up my new daily, Dacia Duster 1.5 DCi 4x4. Probably not the most popular choice but living in Cumbria and doing part time delivery work down some dreadful roads, plus the opportunity for some soft green laning was too good to turn down. Got the car for a good price IMO (3k, 115k miles 13 plate with a fresh 12 months MOT)
Anyway. Got it home last night after some spirited driving home, didn't feel anything bad or clunky, but have noticed some inner tread wear (mentioned in the MOT) on the NSF tyre. the rest of the tyre looks OK. didn't feel as if the tracking was out (I've driven badly tracked cars, and the steering wheel not sitting straight is usally the giveaway - this felt straight) and other signs of suspension issues weren't there - no knocking over bumps etc, no clicking when turning the wheel (so not drop link/track rod end or cv joint to my knowledge) Like i say the other 3 tyres are fine, its just the NSF tyre seems to be really low in comparison to the rest of the tyre.
I did have a quick read on an older post on here that mentioned about toe in toe out, but that was being mentioned when both front tyres were getting inner edge wear. I am not so sure what else could be causing it. Any suggestions? Just don't want to pay for a 4 wheel drive alignment in case there is anything else to sort first.
Thanks in advance,
Ste

It'll be the alignment:- A check is usually only £5 and you can go from there.
You'll probably find the toe / camber are wildly out of whack on that wheel; Just pay for the front adjustments which would be ~£30 and you'd be sorted.

"Yes your alignment is out.....we also noticed a misting of oil from your shock absorbers and your brakes are 70% worn"
Oh don't worry I absolutely won't be getting them to do any other work... I only want to know if my tracking is out and I'll go to an indy to get it done at a reasonable cost (tbh not sure how much 4wd alignment isHaltamer said:

Jet Wheel & Tyre in Benfleet; Proper hunter laser alignment rig too. I've got the receipts to prove it

Chap who runs the alignment rig (Jake) has a K20 EG Hatch, and they get some interesting cars in so it's a good place.
