Tyres and Tyre website recommendations.
Discussion
Anyone know any good value tyre websites? I have used Blackcircles before, I think I also got clubcard points (Maybe)
I need a few new tyres for my city car, I use it a lot on the Motorway, I do somewhere in the region of 7-10K miles year.
Just looking for recommendations, I have found Toyo and Hancock OK in the past. Any other ideas?
We have Nexen on one of the other cars in the family (fitted by manufacturer), which are OK so far.
Cheers

I recently used tyreleader.
By far the cheapest I could find for the size I wanted.
The tyres were delivered in around 5 days with no issues, although I did start to get the fear when the delivery details hadn't been updated after a few days and then reading a historical thread on here about them.
I'd use them again, but probably pay by credit card next time incase of delivery issues.

last time i looked for tyres, found a decent price on tyreleader, looked up tyre fitters near by, rung up the place that would be fitting the tyres and asked what their best price on the tyres were compared to tyreleader. They said they can match the price Always worth a try doing it that way.
It can be cheaper (and easier) just to go to your nearest "under the arches" tyre place. Generally the scruffier and smaller the building the better.
The best one near me is basically a couple of old blokes with trolley-jacks and a small workshop. The car stays in the yard outside as all inside space is (with the exception of a small corner used for the wheel balancing and tyre fitting/removal) crammed with tyres they have in stock. The 'office' is about the same size as my downstairs loo, and almost completely impassable due to junk piled up in there. After paying (I was expecting to have to use a cheque or cash, but they did have a card machine!), I was provided with a handwritten receipt and the sale was recorded in a large hardback book. Other than the card machine, I suspect the method by which they operate hasn't changed for 40 years or more!
Every time I have used them, they have been quicker than most "fast fit" centres, every wheel has been balanced right first time, and the tyres have been as cheap or cheaper than most websites.

Based on my experience of the local ones to me,the issue is that the choice of tyre is normally only budget options (whatever they have at the time) - they can get others but they normally have to order them in and arent competitive. Supplying own tyres is normally the best route i have found and asking them to fit only (buy from camskill/tyreleader/ebay etc). The best one near me is basically a couple of old blokes with trolley-jacks and a small workshop. Always worth a check against the big chains too for comparison.
I always use my local place. They are listed on Blackcircles etc but business via that route obviously costs them a %. Without fail they've always beaten the best online price I can find (they know I'll have looked). I do sometimes have to wait a few days, if I'm after something less common, but they can always source it.
You can get a little cashback on Blackcircle purchases if you go via Quidco first.

I ended up with LandSail tyres by mistake on my last car.
I was not happy, but....
They were so good I've put them on my A7 (3.0 Quattro 320bhp-600nm).
The new compound for performance cars.
Not the old compound which are ditch finder's!
Superb grip Wet and Dry. They brake well and were about £80 each fitted at Halfords (they came out the best deal online).

I'm cruel to my tyres, but these are on par with the Pirelli's I replaced!
Sure to be a big name in the near future.
I really recommend them.

That's a bold first post, I'll give you that.
All the Top Japanese Tyres now that are household names were lethal when they first came out.In the 70's most Motorcycles came on Yokohama's made from Nylon.
They were lethal in the wet!
Everone, and I mean Everyone I knew had them replaced with Bridgstones or Dunlops before collecting their new Motocycle !
I agree, bold first post lol.
I'm fed up of being pushed into 'Names' that are often produced in China/Korea with other brands anyway ?
