i had a look in my box of bits, got a tin of easy start

squirted it inside the tyre, wafted it a bit, little bit more

Used the girlfriend fancy candle lighter - WHUMP! worked a treat, quicky got my foot pump on and it was as good as new.

So easy infact - i took the tyre off and repainted the wheel. Worked perfectly the second time

Never in the field of PH topics have so many read a thread posted by someone with a more appropriate nickname

Break bead- old dodge of driving over flat tyre used to work . Might need several attempts. For sealing- ratchet strap /similar on outside of tyre( get it tight) and try bouncing it when inflating. Used to do my own car tyres as a hard up apprentice .Got remolds for cheap and in those days tyre places were rare.

So used to things not working for me these days I didn't hold out much hope - inflating a fully deflated trailer tyre. As recommended, put a ratchet strap round the tyre, ratcheted the strap up quite tightly. Then a little tighter and it worked. It was so quick that when I released the trigger on the compressor after just a few second the gauge stayed at 8bar!!!

Well done everyone. It was a spare and there was no way I was going to set out without a spare!!!

Thank you so much Piston Heads
