It's had a nut & bolt rebuild from the ground up - everything renewed or refurbished. It's probably better than when it came out of the BL factory in 1972. Well pleased with it so far.

Why aren't more people posting on this!

Regardless of car type and people personal preferences (I think its laaaaavley biggrin), that restoration needs some credit, its simply amazing!

Looks stunning, can really appreciate the work that's gone into that. In fact, after doing that kind of restoration, I think I'd find it very hard to actually let the car go..

Thanks for the complimentary comments guys. I wish I could take credit for the restoration, but I can't. All the work was carried out by a guy called Al from Nottingham. He's done 4 of these Stags to this sort of standard, but sadly this was his last. In between the time I bought the car from him and picked it up, he had a massive heart attack and passed away. 41 yrs old. He will be sadly missed.
The work is to a really high standard. Al was very passionate about his Stags. RIP.

This is dreadful news! I went to see Al regarding restoring my Stag - I think he was re-building yours at the time. He appeared to be a really fit and healthy guy with an absolute passion for the cars frown

That car is superb. 'Probably' better than it came out of the factory?? Let me think about that for a minute........
Awful news about the chap that restored it though.

Have seen some of his earlier cars on eBay with loads of pics of the work in progress. Sad loss.

Enjoy your car - make sure you drive it and don't just polish it :-)

Stunning car. I'm sure I read and looked at all the pictures on e-bay a few years back.
