Hi,

my 1500 rebuild is soon to be complete and I want to remove the oil feed to the head which is fed off a T with the oil pressure sender. This is under advice from people (including Debs on here) that the current set-up will reduce oil flow to the bottom end - right where it is needed.

I've had lots of bottom end issues and would rather have a tough bottom end and deal with issues at the top end than the bottom for a while (though I'm not entirely sure what the extra oil feed prevented).

Anyway. I assume I'll remove the T and put the sender straight into the block but what do I do at the other end of the feed? Can I just block off the hole at the back of the head with a correct-sized bolt? or will this have unforseen impacts?

Thanks

Chris

There really isn't any reason for this extra oil feed. On a 4 cylinder engine it "may" help to prolong the life of the rocker shaft - will isn't a problem in any case.

The hole in the back of the head should be blanked off with a short setscrew with a copper washer under the head.
