Hello forum, I was wondering how I can try to run my GT6+ engine outside of the car, and which wiring is necessary for this action?
I first want to check if the engine is working, before i start restoring the rest of this beautiful oldtimer.

thanks in advance,
Philippe

This is very easy with a car as simple as the GT6. Connect up radiator, connect heater pipes up to complete circuit. Earth to engine, positive to coil, petrol to petrol pump. I can't thin of anything else. I suggest you connect the exhaust up if you don't want to go deaf/ p off the neighbours.

Not sure what you will find out from just runnning the engine though. I suggest you get the car roadworthy and run the car for a few weeks before deciding what mechanical work needs doing. Otherwise just strip the engine and check for wear and tear with some decent measuring equipment.

An engine repair is likely to be the least of your worries on a GT6 rebuild.

GT6 rebuilds are easy though, the only tricky bits I can think of are the sills, the front edge of the roof, and on a GT6+ the doughnuts.

I'd quite like to do a Mark2 one day, I love GT6s.

hi Pillipe
No problem. main concern is keeping the engine upright. It is possible, owing to turning motion for the engine to kick and land on its side. Strap it down to somthing.
