TR6 125 PI (1976)
Discussion
Hi,
I am looking at buying a 1976, which I guess is one of the last/late built 125 injection cars.
Can anyone give me an opinion on the 125, and what TR officionado's think of these cars - I dont plan to exhibit or have a concours car, but would just like to know what is thought of the car?
Thanks
JK

To be honest there's not much to choose. The 125 is down slightly on power but not by as much as the figures suggest (measuring method changed). In many ways 125 is better, ie head restraints, nicer instruments. Only real downside I can think of is that the throttle mechanism wears assymetrically (it's difficult to explain easily) which means the throttle butterflys don't all open at once or by the same amount, and are fiddly to adjust. And the overdrive only operates on third and fourth, but that's hardly the end of the world. Otherwise, to all practical purposes, they're the same car as the 150bhp model.
