1) A hell of a lot less than people have been paying for Mk 1/2 Escorts.

2) £2,000 - £4,500 according to Practical Classics - http://www.practicalclassics.co.uk/car.php?c=917

A really good one will go for £4k upwards; there are some really good restorations out there. A tatty one can be had for a few hundred quid. There are, however, a few bargains if you keep your eyes open. Here's my £800 '73:

Thanks, it's not quite so nice close-up but it was certainly a bargain.

I only paid £800 for this, has a couple of issues like rattling timing chain, knackered sprockets and perished carb mounts but as its got Electronic Ignition, Limited Slip Diff, Koni's all round etc etc and came with 12 Months test it was a bargain. Its in very good condition too.

Stands Me at about £1200 now with everything sorted. Insurance £90 a year, road tax is a pain but only because I have a Mk 1 MX-5 & a MG ZS to tax as well.....
