Hi. I'm planning on converting my car to a convertible and wanted to know the measurements of the hood and frame from a stag. The critical measurements I need to work out if it's possible to use a stag hood are....width across the hood from drivers door pillar to passenger pillar....length of hood above the door glass from top front of glass to top back of glass....also the verticle measurement of hood at rear of same glass....and finally.....the measurement running the tape measure from top front of hood right over the hood to the rear and down over the rear window to stop where it meets the body by the boot.

I AM trying to locate a Stag locally to go and take these measurements myself, but so far no luck, so thought some kind friend might help on here :-)

Cheers,
Wayne

Hi Wayne, not a lot of help here, except don't. I have always loved the Gilbern and to hack it up might spoil the shape.
That looks particularly nice in yellow.
Or find a convertible and sell me yours.

Hi

But what you dont know is that I have another Gilbern Invader which has had something fall across it's roof at the rear and has crushed it, so I feel justified in doing this conversion because it rescues another Gilbern that's been off the road since 1982. My yellow one is and will remain on the road as it is with ongoing tweeks to improve it.

If you want a Gilbern, then join the owners club ( if you haven't already ) and then you can take on one of the many projects the Club has in store, very reasonably priced to members.

Cheers,
Wayne.
