Timing for Triumph V8

Can anyone tell me whether the timing for an unleaded V8 should be set differently to the 'standard' engine?

I'd have thought the usual rules would apply - set to the standard timing and if you get any pinking (pre-ignition) due to the lower octain rating retard until it goes away.
