I've heard of someone putting a skyline engine in a herald 13/60.
I'm guessing it wasn't a straightforward swap, but shows that it can be made to fit in the triumph chassis. Has anybody done anything similar. It would make any of the triumph range into real flyers!

Though loads of others have been done into the Spitfire/GT6 chassis, including Rover K-series, Ford Zetec, Vauxhall red-tops, etc. The Club Triumph forums are probably your best bet (http://club.triumph.org.uk)

You can put anything in anything with enough time, money and inclination.

Slapping in a big motor also means upping every other item too, axles, chassis, bodywork, brakes, suspension and so on.

I had a 13B turbo RX7 engine in my Spitfire. Have worked on a GT6 with a Supercharged 24V Calton/Sentor 3.0 straight six. How about a Vauxhall Ecotec 3.0 V6? Mounted as close to the bulk head as possible to centralise the mass (Courtney do an awesome "Police Spacial" turbo conversion for that engine).
