1500 overdrive gearbox. Rare or something?

I'm hunting out a 1500 overdrive box, considering they aren't that rare you would think I was hunting the platinum fleece (the golden fleeces rarer cousin).

Found one breakers (sheffield area) but for the last month he has been having a gearbox coming in "tomorrow" starting to get the messed around with feeling, anywhere else to find a decent OD box?

eBay is probably your best bet, or try calling some of the parts specialists as they may have/know of one.

Personally I'd buy something like this from eBay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am... - and shove it in the car. If it's knackered at least you have something to use as an exchange for a recon box from someone like Canley Classics, etc.

Your probably right, I've seen that one it's just the wording that concerns me, in Ebay language that usually translates to "no internals"!
