Mine's been in bits for years. It's jigged up to accept an ls7 with turbos. Rear axle is a Thunderbird 8.8" located by a reverse 'A' frame. It's got coilovers all round, front wishbones, 7x17 on the front and 10x17 rims on the rear. Front brakes are 300 mm Brembos. I expect to put it back together over the winter but I thought that last year and the years before that The good bit is that my pile of stock is getting more complete
3.5 Defender engine so 8.3:1 comp ratio, heads skimmed 1mm (40 thou) to get around 9ish to 1. RC87 Cam from Progress engineering (used to be RoverCraft) designed for manual 4x4 RR, around 266 Degrees, Webber 500 carb on Offy 360 manifold, cleaned up heads with proper 3 angle valve seats. Never got dyno'd but north of 200BHP. In 1100KG of 7 went like stink!
One of the cheapest tweaked engines I've ever done, but did have 130 odd hours in it.

I have one of each, a 7, & an 8.
The 8 has a late model injected 4.6 Range Rover V8, with a fair bit of work, but a mild cam. It puts over 280 BHP, does a quarter in 13.4 sec, but will happily potter into town, in heavy traffic.
It's a great car, & I can't imagine anything I'd rather have. The sound of that big Rover does attract a bit more attention than is really desirable, if you like having a licence.
For hoonong around town, the 7 is much better. With a bit of work it gets along quite quickly, but goes mostly unnoticed, by that long arm of the law, as it does it quietly, & unspectaculatly.
Still, if you want something that goes, & handles, you can get it from a TR7/V8, with a bit of work, & for so much less money than anything else, I don't know why they are still so cheep.
