Just wondering really, does anyone use one as a daily drive and whats it like?

I've been looking to get my first classic car and due to my father having one when I was a kid I've always had a thing for them. It would have to be used as a main car as I dont have the space or the funds to run two cars. I do however have a garage to keep it in and I'm willing to improve my limited mechanical knowlege to enable me to look after it properly.

Any help would be great.

Make sure you get one it good condition and don't skimp on basic maintainence (front trunnions need a squirt of EP90 oil - NOT grease - every 3,000 miles for example) and you shouldn't have any major problems.

Convertable hoods WILL leak - the British car industries idea of waterproof wasn't up to much in the 1960s/70s but saloons should be OK.

Early (non-rotoflex) cars need to be treated with a little more respect than a modern family car - lift off mid-corner and it can bite you. Later rotoflex cars are better behaved at the back.

Lots of people on the club triumph forum use them as daily drivers and have a huge amount of technical knowledge between them - http://club.triumph.org.uk/forum/

Aim to get a car with good body work, rusty body work can be a nightmare to sort out whereas mechanics are a much easier thing to sort out on these cars and you'd be able to do them yourself
