Trying to get some idea for what i can fit,

I measured up this morning and decided that 13 x 6J will fit on the fron but wont clear the rear trunnion, so now looking at 14 x 6J with 185/60 tyres.

Any advice?

I fitted Triumph Dolomite Sprint Alloy wheels to the GT6 mk3 i used to own ... not a very modern looking wheel, or particularly wide.. but they had a 'period' look and kinda suited the car, as well as having the same bolt hole pattern. However there were clearance problems at the front as the wheels touched the brake callipers, so i ended up fitting wheel spacers on all four wheels.

As i recall, the spacers were about 1.5 inch ..and the car looked great with the wider track, without looking 'over tyred'...and the handling was good too. You need to be careful to fit the spacers properly.. but i used the car for about 4 years with them, and it still has them fitted as far as i know.

Initially, i had a few problems with the tyres catching the inside lip of the wheel arches, when going over big bumps ... but i just ground away some of the lip and that sorted it.

On my MkIII GT6 I have a set of Revs which came with the car so I am not sure of sizes, however, the rear wheels are running 205/60R13 and the front 185/55R13 tyres with no clearance problems.
