twin plenum stag

I'd be surprised if your the only one, it isn't a rare conversion so there must be others with tp units in place, it is a nice conversion though.
Only around 250 to 500 tp units were made and half of those are either on race cars or on original Vitesses so there could be as little as 100 left for sale as such - it is an extremely rare conversion IMHO.I have only ever seen 3 tp setups that were not in a Vitesse, 1 in a Westfield, 1 in a TR7 and this one in a Stag - thats it in 15 years of visiting car shows etc.

I'm sorry I don't believe for a second that few tp units were made, going off the sheer numbers available (I have been hunting one for a while now) on ebay and the like, I went to view a pair yes a pair of cars for resto which were original tp cars. Bear in mind the guy I went to see about these cars was an ex rover dealer and bought one of the cars ex demo at a trade closed sale back in the day and ROVER didn't even know it was tp. Hardly reasonable to expect the rover records to be anything like accurate.
I personally know of 2 MGBs powered by tp vitesse units.

The exact figures for the t/p has never been known as it was not listed for sale as an option.
Basically it was a homlogation model of which 500 were needed to enable it to race in the touring cars.
When you bought a Vitesse at the time it was pot luck as to weather you got one or not.
Some had group A rocker shafts, some even had group A exhausts as well as the obvious group A injection (the twin plenum designed by Lotus although twin plenum is misleading as its actually a twin inlet design into a single plenum !!)
Rover was in a mess at the time and the exact production figures have never been known but I personally think that around 200 actually made it to the road plus of course those destined for the track but they are stillvery rare but yes teh t/p cars can be found with a little effort but the injection system on its own - not thats very hard to find but not impossable
I personally have owned 2 t/p Vitesses and knew of at least 3 others but the t/p engines in other cars - very very rare. .
