I know a few US guys have put ford and chevy v8s in TR6's, but does anyone know of someone who's used a Rover V8?
I've had several TR's in the past along with some Cobra replicas, I think a TR6 with a nice 4.6 Rover lump would be hard to beat.
Any comments, suggestions, idea's?

A german guy had one a while ago, it was detailed in TRaction, I seem to remember that it wasn't easy. We have a club member in Kent with a small block chevy & that was quite an amount of work as well.

Having a 3.9 V8 rover levered into my TR6.....
It has been completed by our local mechanics Tony & Tony.
You are right about how difficult it is!!!!!!!!!!!
Cosworth front discs vented with 4 pot brembo`s fitted.
5 speed LT77 gearbox with a short shift remote specially altered.
It is intended to keep the injection system with the hot wire system.
The steering is currently being re-routed through the MG manifold.
ECU is mounted under the passenger side bulk head keeping the same loom from the donor.
A few pics are at www.letherby.com

Very slow,

Just can get it low enought without being able to close the bonnet.

May have to go Tuscan Air Filter's thru the bonnet style,
Or cut and reweld the sump to clear the steering rack/subframe and end up with a smaller bonnet scoop/Bulge.

Engine still need's to be built up,
Then to Andy APM (He doesn't know yet,But will when he read's this) to have the tappet's checked and reset and the timing set up correctly.

Engine and the gearbox mount's still to be fabricated.

Basically it hasn't moved on much at all.

Still went to Castle Combe today to get my arse in gear again.
Love the sound of that AJP on song.

It will fit if you get approx 15mm machined from the inlet manifold face and also machine a flat on the top of the plenum chamber(preferably before its polished unlike me).
You might also need to shoten the water top up assembly........but it will fit.

Just out of interest, and resurrecting a 3 year old thread. I finally managed to buy a V8 TR6. It's one of the nicest (classic) cars I've ever driven.

Is it a decent RV8 or just one out of an old Rover saloon?
